WASHINGTON — The Wizards will play a meaningful basketball game this week for the first time since the rebuild began in May 2023.
The Milwaukee Bucks visit Capital One Arena at 8 p.m. Wednesday for the regular-season opener. The Wizards, of course, said they’re focused on one game at a time.
But a few other items are circulating in Wizards world as the opener approaches. Namely, the rookie extension deadline for Bilal Coulibaly and AJ Dybantsa’s status after he suffered a sprained ankle in Friday’s preseason finale.
Dybantsa injury update
Brian Keefe said Sunday that Dybantsa is “day-to-day” after he sprained his left ankle in the Wizards’ preseason finale against the New Orleans Pelicans.
